Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital (UCVH), an affiliate of North Country Healthcare, is a 16-bed critical access hospital serving 20 communities and 8,500 people in its service area which includes communities in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. UCVH provides over 4,000 emergency department visits, 325 outpatient surgeries, 300 inpatient admissions, 7,000 imaging studies, and 140,000 laboratory tests annually. Job Summary:

    The Administrative Assistant’s duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operations of the office. Supports members of the Senior Leadership Team, with primary support being for the Director of Non-Clinical Operations and the Chief Medical Officer, through various organizational and communication tasks. Responsible for confidential and time-sensitive material. Familiar with a variety of practices and procedures.

    Essential Functions:

    • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments.
    • Assists in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
    • Develop and maintain a filing system.
    • Provide information by answering questions and requests by email or phone.
    • Produce and distribute correspondence, memos, meeting minutes, etc.
    • Provide general support to visitors or internal customers.
    • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
    • Handle multiple projects.
    • Provide coverage for other departmental administrative assistants, if necessary.

    Other Essential Functions:

    • Performs additional duties as assigned.
    • Adheres to facility Values, Service Excellence, or Standards of Excellence
    • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

    Essential Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of clerical or administrative experience is required, preferably in a healthcare setting. Must possess strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to exercise initiative and judgment in effectively planning and organizing. Must also be able to communicate effectively, both orally and written with all levels of the organization and to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information. Must have excellent computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office software. Must have or be able to obtain Notary Public credentials and BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
