Job Summary:

Technician is a person responsible for the efficient operation of the CSP department. He/she is responsible for knowledge of the decontamination, disinfection, preparation, packaging and sterilization of instruments/supplies. He/she is also responsible for knowledge of all equipment within this area. Other duties include maintaining standard inventory, collection and distribution of supplies, goods and instruments to various departments. He/she works closely with the Supply Services Coordinator and the Surgical Services Manager to effectively maintain the department. He/she must possess knowledge of AAMI Standards and Recommended Practices for CSP. Qualifications High school diploma. Must possess a valid driver’s license Current BLS certification Knowledge of sterilization processes CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) preferred.
