Job Description

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Clinical Staff Pharmacist the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) performs tasks in the Pharmacy Department necessary for optimum patient care and pharmaceutical service. The CPhT must be a registered, certified pharmacy technician with the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy and maintain this registration and certification. The CPhT under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Clinical Staff Pharmacist performs all duties of the Registered Pharmacy Technician. In addition, the CPhT , under the supervision of the Pharmacist, participates in IV Sterile Compounding.

Essential Requirements: High School Graduate or Equivalent License/Certification: Current National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (recognized by the NH Board of Pharmacy). State of NH Board of Pharmacy Registration within 15 days of employment. Shall not have been convicted of a drug-related felony or admitted to sufficient facts to warrant such findings. Prior Hospital experience or Compounding Pharmacy experience is preferred. Proof of successful completion of an NH Board of Pharmacy recognized course on sterile compounding and 600 hours of experience in sterile compounding prior to employment required. If a candidate is unable to provide this proof, they must complete, within 6 months of hire, the NH-approved sterile compounding course and complete 600 hours of Pharmacist supervised sterile compounding time. BLS certification is required within 60 days of employment.
