CMA - Certified Medical Assistant/Medicare Wellness Champion
The Medical Assistant / Medicare Wellness Champion is responsible for the care and treatment of clients in a medical office as directed by a physician. They work under the supervision of the provider, to ensure that quality care is provided to adult and pediatric patients. The Medicare Wellness Champion specifically works with the Medicare population providing Medicare Wellness visits, coordinating their needs with the Chronic Care and Case Management Teams. The Medical Assistant / Medicare Wellness Champion is accountable to the providers as well as the Team Leader and Medical Practice Manager and works closely with medical staff, clinical staff, and support staff of Weeks Medical Center.
Essential Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of medical assisting with knowledge of new trends and techniques in medical assisting. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred; BLS required. Non-certified Medical Assistants are required to sit for a yearly certification exam until certified. Previous experience is also preferred.
