Job Summary:
The Dietary Float is at the forefront of customer service providing patients and guests with service above and beyond expectations to ensure a memorable food and dining experience. Must maintain sanitary conditions of all tableware, pots, pans, and other dietary equipment, as well as, assist in preparing needed food items in compliance with the Sanitary Code of NH. The Dietary Float must ensure that all duties are completed on schedule.
Essential Functions:
- Greet patients and discuss their meal options and orders while maintaining proper dietary restrictions as set by physicians/ dietitian.
- Utilize computer ordering system to record patient orders and submit to the kitchen.
- Clearing trays from patient rooms after service periods and recording intakes for nursing documentation.
- Daily stocking, cleaning and rotation of food items in dietary aid station. Light food prep work.
- Greet guests in the cafeteria and be able to serve food, take special orders and cash them out.
- Must be able to utilize P.O.S. system and be able to handle money appropriately and make change.
- Daily stocking, cleaning and rotation of food items in cafeteria.
- Proper cleaning and sanitation of dishes and food contact services.
- Light prep work as indicated by lead cook/food service manager.
- Production, wrapping and labeling of baked goods. Daily stocking of food products in cafeteria.
- Assist with washing and sanitizing of kitchen equipment.
- Other tasks as indicated by the food service manager.
Essential Requirements: Must know how to operate dishwashers and other kitchen equipment. Must have full knowledge of tray setting procedure. Ability to read Dietary manual. Healthcare experience preferred. This position is on a 2 week rotating schedule. Varied hours with every other weekend and alternating holidays.
