Job Description
Job Summary:
As a member of the Dietary Services Department, the Registered Dietitian (RD) provides medical nutrition therapy in a clinical setting. The RD is a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team and assists in the nutritional care of the patient through mechanisms of menu processing and patient assessment, following established procedures. Assists with interviewing, securing diet histories and evaluating patient nutritional status. Gives diet instruction and records patient information in the medical record. Utilizes knowledge of disease etiology, food/drug nutrient interaction, food chemistry, and anatomy and physiology in nutritional assessments. Qualifications Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited program in nutritional sciences. Maintains current NH licensure and registration with American Dietetic Association (ADA). Certification by the National Board for Diabetes Educators preferred. Computer literate (i.e. electronic medical record, e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point). Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
