Position Summary
The Environmental Services (EVS) / Laundry Technician is responsible for maintaining the Facilities environment in a clean and safe manner. The EVS / Laundry Tech is also responsible for processing, storage and distributing of linen under the most sanitary conditions; to ensure that infection control is carried out during the laundering process. Housekeeping/Laundry processes need to be consistent with standards established by Administration in conjunction with the Infection Control and Safety Committees.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent is not required, but one must be able to read, understand written documents and write.
- Ability to read housekeeping schedules and follow oral directions.
- After training, be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Prior EVS experience in a Healthcare Facility preferred.
- Strong inter-personal skills are necessary.
