Job Summary:

The Lead CT Technologist is a non-exempt position responsible and accountable for coordinating the activities and providing clinical leadership and expertise within the Diagnostic Imaging Department. He/she contributes to the vision, mission, strategic plan of the organization, and is accountable for the standards of care and practice in the areas where radiology services are practiced. The Lead CT Technologist provides direct patient care and aids the Director in maintaining staff competency and machine operation.

He/she contributes to the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the organization and is accountable for the standards of care and practice in the areas where radiology services are practiced. The Lead CT Technologist provides direct patient care and aids the Director in maintaining staff competency and machine operation

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a role model for staff and also provides direct clinical and professional education to staff.
  • Accepts clinical responsibility and accountability for the quality and level of care provided to all patients and evaluates the appropriateness of care.
  • Actively participates with Department Manager in formulating and implementing the organization’s and the department’s strategic plan and goals.
  • Ensures proper and economical use of equipment, supplies, and facilities for maintaining patient care.
  • Ensures that proper charges are generated for patient care services and supplies.
  • Collaborates with the Department Manager to establish performance goals with each staff member.
  • Ensures a state of constant preparedness for inspections by CMS , the State of New Hampshire Bureau of Radiological Health , and other regulatory bodies in conjunction with the Department Manager.
  • Maintains ACR accreditation in CT as well as all QA/QC requirements.
  • Maintains up to date protocols and techniques for all CT related equipment.
  • Manages time effectively to ensure that deadlines are met and that personal priorities support organizational objectives.
  • Accepts and satisfactorily completes miscellaneous duties as requested by the Department Manager, Radiologist and Chief Nursing Executive.
  • Participates in CT replacement planning as needed and implementation of newly acquired equipment.
