Job Description



Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for building trade activities. Performs all tasks pertaining to building maintenance such as sheetrock work, carpentry, and painting, grounds keeping, and snow removal. Assists in repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning units, air handlers, through-wall heaters, plumbing systems, boilers, and electrical circuits. Position includes "on call" responsibilities with a 30-minute response time. A qualified and favorable candidate could have the opportunity for an electrical apprenticeship at the discretion of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Facilities Director. Candidates must be self-motivated, work independently as required and be able to make decisions as needed.

Essential Qualifications: Associate’s degree or certification in a maintenance-related field required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a commercial driver’s medical card. Knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems and steam piping systems is preferred. Prior experience in all aspects of hospital maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing and boiler systems is preferred. Familiarity with computer applications required and must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications.
