POSITION SUMMARY:  

The NCH Director of Pharmacy will lead North Country Healthcare (NCH) Pharmacy Services across the continuum of care, which includes acute care, infusion services, ambulatory care, and liaising with NCH/Maxor retail settings. The NCH Director of Pharmacy will establish and implement the vision for NCH Pharmacy services to maintain and enhance excellence in delivering pharmacy services. This role requires strong business and operational acumen to effectively manage and expand pharmacy services. The NCH Director of Pharmacy will oversee strategic planning, operational management, medication safety and quality, business development, and collaborative partnerships to achieve outstanding patient, clinician, and financial outcomes. 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (required). 
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (preferred). 

 

??Licensure:? 

  • New Hampshire Pharmacist License; other state licensing as required.  
  • North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) successfully passed. 
  • Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) successfully passed. 
  • Up to date on clinical training for next licensure renewal. 
  • Current member of the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy (NHBP). 
  • Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.

??Work Experience:? 

  • 10 years of pharmacist experience (required). 
  • 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience (required). 
  • 10 years in progressive pharmacy management, within an integrated healthcare system (Preferred). 
  • Success in managing pharmacy services in integrated health care systems. 
  • Experience in clinical, operational, business, and regulatory functions. 
  • Experience in health care improvement and operations. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Provide leadership and direction in developing, recommending, and implementing programs, policies, procedures, and standards. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to strategically develop pharmacy service lines and manage new development opportunities. 
  • Oversee operations and compliance of the system's 340B program to maximize cost-effectiveness. 
  • Ensure pharmacy services are delivered with safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and customer service excellence. 
  • Support the design and implementation of quality and medication safety initiatives to provide timely and efficient care. 
  • Strategically manage Pharmacy Operations aligned with the system's strategic goals. 
  • Lead discussions on operational efficiency, expense management optimization, and service expansion. 
  • Assess industry trends and developments, identify risks and opportunities, and develop strategic plans. 
  • Integrate pharmacy services, standards, and quality improvement practices throughout the NCH system. 
  • Promote collaboration with organization leaders to advance high-quality pharmacy services. 
  • Mentor and develop pharmacy leaders to achieve high performance and meet key process indicators. 
  • Ensure effective communication within NCH pharmacies and promote positive employee relations. 
  • Act as subject matter expert on various committees, representing pharmacy services in planning and decision-making. 
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with business and clinical leaders throughout the system and state. 
  • Engage stakeholders to integrate pharmacy services within seamless care delivery across the continuum.
