Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor, the Patient Access Team Lead is responsible for guiding and assisting Patient Access Colleagues in their various daily functions within the Patient Access Department related to scheduling, pre-registration, registration, and switchboard operations. Serves as a resource and mentor for the Patient Access Team. Ensures outstanding patient experience while proactively reducing financial loss. Demonstrates behaviors outlined in NCH’s Core Values and supports NCH’s Mission and Vision.

 

Job Requirements:

(1) Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service, conflict mitigation, and resolution. (2) Demonstrated knowledge and use of applicable software applications. (3) Good communication and customer service skills with a pleasant, clear speaking voice. (4) Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. (5) Must be multi-task-oriented. (6) Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance. (7) Cross-trained on respective Hospital or Clinic Central Registration. (8) Fundamental knowledge on securing prior authorizations.

 

Required Experience:

Minimum of one year experience in Patient Access.
