POSITION SUMMARY:  

The RCM Technical Specialist plays a critical role in overseeing all system integration, build, and optimization activities related to the revenue cycle. This position ensures that Meditech and related systems facilitate efficient workflows, accurate billing, and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. Acting as a liaison between Revenue Cycle, IT, and external vendors, the Technical Specialist supports process improvements, maintains system stability, and upholds revenue integrity organization-wide. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as healthcare administration, social work, public health, or a related area is preferred. 

Certification: 

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) are advantageous. 

Licensure: 

  • Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date. 

Skills: 

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Proficiency in Meditech or other Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. 
  • In-depth knowledge of payer regulations and charge capture processes with problem-solving and analytical skills 

Work Experience: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management system integration or technical roles within a healthcare setting. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Oversee the building and optimization of Meditech dictionaries and clearinghouse edits to support revenue cycle operations. 
  • Implement CMS and payer regulatory updates within EMR workflows to ensure compliance and accuracy. 
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to the revenue cycle management systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 
  • Develop key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards and reporting tools to enable data-driven decision-making. 
  • Recommend and implement workflow automation and optimization strategies to enhance efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with IT and external vendors on system upgrades, testing, and implementation to ensure seamless integration and operation. 
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical audits, providing insights and guidance on system capabilities and compliance.
