RN/Office Nurse

Position Summary

This Procedural/Office Nurse provides direct patient care and clinical support in both office and procedural settings. This role involves working closely with providers and other support staff to support a wide range of cardiology and pulmonary services, including specialized procedures and diagnostics. The nurse also plays a key role in patient education, care coordination, and maintaining clinic flow.

 

Additionally, this position offers convenient day shift hours, no weekends, no holidays and no call.  

 

Position Requirements

  • Candidates with office triage or cardiology and/or pulmonology experience is preferred but will consider qualified candidates.
  • Adheres to HIPAA privacy practices.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed with the New Hampshire State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Licensure/Certification(s):

  • Must be BLS and ACLS certified.

Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking skills essential.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety and positive outcome
  • Excellent multitasking and time management
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Familiarity with computer applications required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
  • May travel to outreach clinics as needed.

Work Experience:

  • Training or experience and ongoing education specific to nursing activities is required.

Essential Functions:

 

Role Specific.

  1. Supports and assists with:
  2. Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs)
  3. Cardioversions
  4. Stress Tests
  5. Other cardiac testing
  6. Cross-trained in Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, including monitoring vitals and patient safety during rehab sessions
  7. Coordinates care across multiple specialties to include cardiology, pulmonary, and primary care
  8. Triages cardiac and pulmonary issues both in-person and via telephone

 General Nursing.

  1. Reports abnormal findings and patient concerns to appropriate provider
  2. Provides patient education related to conditions, medications, and procedures
  3. Conducts follow-up and ensures patient needs are met
  4. Performs and interprets vital signs, pulse oximetry, spirometry, and basic diagnostics
  5. Collects and correlates cardiopulmonary, medical, and medication history; collects vital signs at each visit
  6. Administers medication and treatments as ordered
  7. Documents all nursing care, assessments, and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR)

 Collaboration.

  1. Works openly and collaboratively both inside and outside the department
  2. Provides ongoing clinical support to Medical Assistants as needed
  3. Follows through on statements and actions in a timely manner
  4. Performs other duties as assigned

Please Note: All new hires are required to attend a mandatory three-day orientation at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH. This orientation provides essential training, compliance information, and an introduction to our organizational culture to ensure a smooth and successful transition into your role. Attendance on all three days is required for onboarding completion.

 

Additionally, if Weeks Medical Center is not your designated home base, you will be eligible for travel reimbursement in accordance with our standard travel policy.
