POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Data Analyst supports organizational leadership by providing high-quality, actionable data analysis and facilitating data-driven decision-making across the health system. This role combines the responsibilities of a senior data analyst with those of a project coordinator, integrating information from diverse sources to generate insights that inform strategic, operational, clinical, and financial decisions.
The Analyst will lead the coordination of analysts and subject matter experts from departments including Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Information Technology, Quality, Performance Excellence, and clinical service lines. This role ensures alignment, consistency, and integrity in data analytics and interpretation across the organization.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required
Certification:
- N/A
Licensure:
- Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with SQL, data warehouses, and healthcare information systems (EMR, ERP) preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across departments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, decision support, or healthcare analytics.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare or related fields, with a working knowledge of clinical, operational, and financial domains.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct advanced data analysis and modeling to support strategic priorities, operational effectiveness, clinical outcomes, and quality improvement efforts.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary teams of analysts and experts to support comprehensive, system-level analytics projects.
- Translate complex data into user-friendly reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and operational teams.
- Collaborate with data owners and IT to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate use of data.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics, scorecards, and benchmarking tools.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities within data and recommend actionable strategies.
- Serve as a resource to departments in identifying analytic needs and determining appropriate data sources and methodologies.
- Provide project management oversight for analytic initiatives to ensure timely and effective execution.
- Support the ongoing development and optimization of the organization’s data and decision support capabilities.
