Position Overview:

The Quality Director is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the hospital’s quality management programs and initiatives. This role involves leading a team of 4-5 quality professionals to ensure that all aspects of patient care and hospital operations meet or exceed established quality standards. The Quality Director will work closely with the CQO to develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement strategies that drive excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
    • Supervise and support a team of five quality employees, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in quality management across the hospital.
    • Collaborate with quality staff to standardize practices.
  2. Quality Improvement Initiatives:
    • Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement programs aimed at enhancing patient safety, care quality, and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
  3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality metrics, including patient outcomes, satisfaction scores, and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to hospital leadership on quality performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
  4. Compliance and Accreditation:
    • Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
    • Prepare for and manage accreditation surveys and inspections, addressing any findings or recommendations.
  5. Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Develop, review, and update quality-related policies and procedures to ensure they reflect best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure policies are effectively communicated and implemented throughout the hospital.
  6. Training and Education:
    • Promote a culture of learning and continuous professional development within the quality team.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to drive quality improvement efforts and resolve quality-related issues.
    • Serve as a liaison between the quality department and external agencies, including regulatory bodies and accreditation organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certification in healthcare quality (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management or improvement in a healthcare setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing and developing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
