Job Summary:

Under general supervision and following established procedures, operates highly technical Ultrasound equipment which produces high-frequency sound to acquire images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed high-frequency sound for diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Works effectively with patients and the patient's families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

Essential Qualifications: Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Ultrasound. Must be RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Sonographer) and have BLS Certification. One year of previous experience is required. Working knowledge of CR and PACS is preferred.
