Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for the efficient operation/coordination of the Central Nursing Station reception / clerical functions and the processing of all orders for the Medical Surgical and, as needed, the ICU patient population. The duties of the Unit Manager will include, but are not limited to clerical functions (processing and transcribing physician orders, ordering supplies), reception functions (answering phones, greeting and assisting visitors), assisting with data gathering for CQI projects / databases and assisting the Nursing Supervisor with multiple duties including schedule coordination and day-to-day staffing adjustments. The Health Unit Coordinator must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Qualifications High school graduate. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. BLS certification required. Prior experience as a Unit Coordinator or Unit Secretary strongly preferred. State of New Hampshire license as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) strongly preferred prior to hire. Minimum of one-year experience as a LNA preferred.
